Our Story

The UFA Canada is a governing body of non-professional soccer for Bangladeshis in Canada. The UFA Canada is responsible for organizing and administering soccer tournaments and teams to ensure quality and standard is maintained. 

The UFA Canada has dedicated itself to the promotion of the immense talent that the Bangladeshis of Canada have displayed on the soccer pitch. Our main objective since inception has been to promote soccer amongst Bangladeshi youth in Canada so that it may gain popularity and encourage more and more people to show an interest in soccer. The UFA Canada has taken the opportunity to present football in such a package that is appealing to youngsters. 

Every year The UFA Canada hopes to do numerous soccer tournaments to promote soccer and engagement within the community. 

The UFA Canada was established in 2012 and to date has successfully hosted 23 soccer tournaments with many more to come in the future.

The founder

The UFA Canada was founded by Intekhab Ahmed back in 2012. The main objective of this platform was for the Bangladeshi community to come together to showcase their talent on the soccer pitch in Canada. 

Intekhab has over 20 years experience of hosting soccer tournaments dating back to 2004 when he was in the Aga Khan School, Dhaka. Intekhab was pivotal in shaping the underground soccer scene in Bangladesh and has carried the same energy over to Canada. 

Intekhab is a huge soccer fan and is also the founder of a  Manchester United Supporters Club in Canada called Toronto Reds for which he was also featured on The Daily Star.
